Come hang out with us at the beautiful Orlando, Florida! We will be traveling by plane to spend time at various amusement parks and other super cool activities! We will be staying in an amazing hotel provided on the Universal grounds to keep us close to the exciting action! See below for the following activities and food provided by your payments.
Activities included in the trip
1. Universal’s Sound Design Workshop: Music and the Art of Foley Workshop for Orchestras – Your students will experience life as working movie musicians, syncing music – including Foley and digital sound effects – to real movie scenes. We will get a recording of us playing the background music for a real movie!
2. 4-Day theme park passes to Universal Studios, Epic Universe, and Islands of Adventure
3. NASA Kennedy Space Center
4. Universal’s City Walk
5. Dinner at the Hard Rock Café
Food included on the trip
Breakfast is included in the Hotel Resort on Days 2, 3, and 4.
Lunch is provided on Days 2, 3, and 4.
Dinner at the Hard Rock Café on Day 1.
Dinner at the parks on Days 2 and 3.
Students are responsible for their meals traveling to and from Florida (breakfast and lunch on Day 1 and Dinner on Day 4).
Dining at the theme parks: cash is not accepted at Universal Theme Parks. Students get a dining card that allows them to eat at any of the food vendors at the park.

Mar. 26-28, 2024: For the second consecutive year, all 3 of the Grizzly Orchestras - Chamber, Symphony, and Philharmonic - earned sweepstakes by getting top scores at the UIL Contest at Klein HS! Pictured above is the Chamber Orchestra with their well-deserved UIL trophy!
Nov. 14, 2023: Zoe Winn, Grand Oaks HS Orchestra Harpist, made the Texas All-State Orchestra for her second year in a row! She ranked in the top 8 of all harpists in the state and will once again perform at TMEA in San Antonio, Feb. 2024.

May 29, 2023: Amalia Torrealba Adames was awarded the "Outstanding Performer Award" at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin , which is only given to 2% of participants!
May 29, 2023: Our Grizzly Orchestra had 22 students qualify for the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin, and came home with 13 medals! We earned more medals than any other school in our region!
Apr. 28, 2023: Our Full Orchestra earned sweepstakes at the UIL Contest at Klein HS!
Mar. 30, 2023: 3 of the Grizzly Orchestras - Chamber, Symphony, and Philharmonic - earned sweepstakes by getting top scores at the UIL Contest at Klein Oak HS!
Nov. 10, 2022: Zoe Winn, Grand Oaks HS Orchestra Harpist, made the Texas All-State Orchestra and performed at TMEA in San Antonio.

We submitted our audition recording, and we were chosen to perform at New York City's iconic Carnegie Hall on March 8, 2024! The trip to NYC includes seeing Freedom Plaza (9/11 Memorial), Times Square, a Broadway Show, and a dinner cruise around The Statue of Liberty.
